Découpage or collage is a decorative manual technique.
The word découpage comes from the French découper which means to cut out.
In this technique, printed paper, paper napkins, fabrics... are used, and they are pasted on various supports (wood, papier-mâché, cardboard, glass, metal...)
The printed papers are glued to the support with a varnish glue.
It is a very simple technique, you just have to know how to cut, paste and varnish.
The aim is for the result to imitate handmade painting, using patina and painting techniques and correctly distributing the cutouts to later give a varnish finish.
